2. Three script suggestions

The three styles in which the name can stay smallest without running together (measured on the letterforms).

نورة
Thuluth-inspired (Katibeh)
at least 1.6 cm high, 2.3 cm wide
نورة
Ruqʿa (Aref Ruqaa)
at least 1.8 cm high, 2.8 cm wide
نورة
Naskh (Amiri)
at least 2.0 cm high, 2.6 cm wide

Guide values assuming: finest line ≥ 0.6 mm, gap between letters ≥ 1.0 mm. These are our assumptions, not verified standards – the studio decides the final size.

3. Letters at a glance

No.LetterNameForm in the wordDotsJoins to the left
1 نـ Nun di awal 1 yes
2 ـو Waw di akhir 0 no – the word breaks visually here
3 ر Ra berdiri sendiri 0 no – the word breaks visually here
4 ة Ta marbuta berdiri sendiri 2 no – the word breaks visually here

In total 3 dots, 3 connected writing blocks.

4. Studio checklist

  • Arabic is read right to left – never turn or mirror the stencil so that the name appears mirrored in the finished design. The finished tattoo must read right to left.
  • Letters in the same writing block stay connected; the gap after letters that do not join to the left is intended.
  • Place every dot and compare their number (see table) – a missing or shifted dot makes a different letter.
  • Place a trial print at actual size on the skin and check legibility before tattooing or engraving.
  • If in doubt, have the spelling confirmed by an Arabic speaker.
