4. Studio checklist

• Arabic is read right to left – never turn or mirror the stencil so that the name appears mirrored in the finished design. The finished tattoo must read right to left.
• Letters in the same writing block stay connected; the gap after letters that do not join to the left is intended.
• Place every dot and compare their number (see table) – a missing or shifted dot makes a different letter.
• Place a trial print at actual size on the skin and check legibility before tattooing or engraving.
• If in doubt, have the spelling confirmed by an Arabic speaker.
